The NVQ Level 6 Health and Safety diploma is an evidence and proficiency-based qualification aimed at individuals who already work as safety professionals or professionals who apply health and safety policies and procedures as part of their role. This NVQ is a great way to earn a nationally recognised qualification that is credible and can help to develop your professional career going forward.

Any occupational health and safety practitioners, including managers or assistants dealing with developing complex health and safety procedures, are suitable to take this Level 6 NVQ in Occupational Health And Safety practice.

It is a requirement that you already work in a health and safety role and have sufficient level of knowledge and understanding before you undertake this NVQ. The qualification requires candidates to gather sufficient evidence of a suitable standard to obtain this diploma – you will be assessed on; promoting a positive health and safety culture, being able to develop and implement health and safety procedures, implement effective communication systems, maintain competence at both an individual and organisational level, identify and control health and safety risks, develop and implement health and safety monitoring systems, create emergency response procedures, review systems, and continually strive to improve these processes.

As well as gaining a diploma that demonstrates your capability as a health and safety practitioner, you will also be able to apply for a black CSCS card upon completion which makes you far more employable in managerial positions. The Level 6 NVQ for Health & Safety is a work-based qualification, which means it’s assessed primarily through evidence collection which you can upload for assessment. This will be a mixture of photographic and video evidence, among other types.
